As my thrifting addiction continues, I within the past few weeks have found some jack pots. One item of clothing can be the "center piece" or as I learned in art class focal point of an outfit. One of my biggest tips while thrifting is to keep an open mind because you never know what your crazy mind can come up with or find inspiration from! Also all these pictures were taken in Old Town.
Outfit# 1
Hat: Forever 21
Overalls: Thrifted
Bralette: TJ Max
Purse: Thrifted
Shoes: Birks

As everyone knows these overalls are a bit of an obsession of mine, I was so "geeked" when I found them I screamed and did a little happy dance in front of my favorite thrift store owner and Clay they probably thought I won the lottery... which I basically freaking did! Not only can you put nearly about any top underneath them, they are very versatile in whatever vibe you're going for: hipster, boho, girly, edgy... you get the gist.
Me being the little hippy I am went for comfort & a boho because of the hat.
*also this purse makes an appearance in a lot of these outfits because it;s my fav and was $4!
Outfit # 2 ( modeled by the one and only Hope Ann)
dress: thrifted
necklace: H&M
shoes: birks
This green dress I found at the salvation army in Ann Arbor. I walked by the rack and saw the color of the dress which was my grandmas favorite. I quickly yanked it off the rack in case another thrifting crazed woman could get it. Although the dress isn't particularly my style, I knew it would be good ol Hopie's. Look out adorable she is in it, she even got complimented walking down the street in it which immediently caused her to turn around and wink at me.

Outfit # 3
Jeans: thrifted
shirt: Ragtime

My second favorite pair of "boyfriend jeans" They're from Abercrombie & Fitch, tbt when I was obsessed with that store and their t-shirts and my mom used to make fun of the "nude" male models on the bags and draw shirts on them.
Outfit # 4
Overalls: thrifted
Kimono: thrifted
Bra: TJ max

Alright so this "kimono" is really a huge woman's shirts that had a long collar and shoulder pats. You already know I ripped off those shoulder pads in the dressing room while trying it on (shhhhh) when I got home I took my children pair of scissors and sliced that bad boy off. The pattern has moons and suns, yet another obsession of mine so basically this kimono could be one of my top thrifting finds.
*tip* always remember what a simple crop or cutting of extra material can do for a piece of clothing, it totally transformed this kimono!
Secondly, the overall shorts I bought today at the thrift store in Old Town. I tried them on, bought them, and walked out of the store wearing them feeling bad ass as ever.
Outfit #5
Top: thrifted
Overalls: thrifted

So a Tommy top/sweater sells for around $70-$100 (I just checked their website) and I got this for $5. This isn't really my style but how can one pass up a classic sweater such as this?! This makes me think of my friend Tori because she loves Tommy clothes so I will probably end up lending this to her!
*tip* even if the clothing item isn't your style, it could be someone else's so eat the $5 and make someones day by giving them it!
Thank you for taking the time to read all about my thrifting adventures and all these awkward "modeling" pictures. Hope and I had fun messing around with my moms camera running around Old Town. Stay tuned for more finds and thrifting adventures soon!
Love, Betty
