A very general topic I know but i want to write about something I love and what I consider a passion of mine. This summer has been filled with concerts, and yes I am having electric forest withdrawals which leads me to write about some of the experiences I have had these past two weeks.

Concert 1: Lord Huron

My wonderful Aunt and Uncle from Colorado came to visit us a couple weeks ago, and I realized that one of my concerts I had been scoping was on the Friday that they were here. We packed into the car and we were off to see Lord Huron. My dad had introduced me to them a while back with one of my favorite songs "Ends of the Earth." They were playing FOR FREE HECK YES at a new up and coming park in Detroit. Although my dad said I was going to get my whole family "shot" if i dragged us to this, my Aunt was excited and thats all I needed to convince him otherwise. It was a great concert, and played all of my favorite songs. Guess who has recently been listening to Lord Huron? Karen and Tony (the parents).

Concert 2: Big Sean & Fettywap

Whats one song Betty can rap every word too? GUAP

whats one song Big Sean did not perform? GUAP was I outraged? YES

But it's okay though, my BETTYWAP LOVES FETTYWAP poster made the big screen and that made up for it.. kinda

Anyways, Rap days at common ground are always a summer night I look forward too and this year did not disappoint. I went with Claire, Mads, Bob, Hope and Veronica and had an amazing time screaming out the lyrics to Bounce Back which I think anyone can relate too.

Concert 3: Cold War Kids and Young the Giant

This happened yesterday night and is definitely up there with my favorite performances. I went with Clay and his family who had tickets for the FIRST row. I have never been so close and I think my eyes were glued to Sareef (lead singer). Even though it rained for a short portion my "ET" sweater look kept my hair dry!! You know a band is good when their songs exactly how they do on the radio/ on a speaker in your room to dance too and all three of these concerts were like that.

In conclusion, wow did I actually must type that, how professional of me! Any time you can get a chance to see any concert just go. Feel the love and energy of the people around you. Go with your family and friends and sing and dance even if you don't know the words to every song. I can guarantee that you will have an amazing time.

Peace!

Mary Beth
