Betty is back with a brand new thrifting adventure. I think everyone and their mom knows I have an addiction. I WILL have my future husband build me a large expensive closet to provide my $1 clothes with a safe home.
So, fall is here and wow am I excited, sure its cold but the fall colors, cozy clothes and Gregory Alan Isakov playing 24/7 feeds into my soul. Luckily for me, I am blessed with a roommate who loves thrifting and takes amazing pictures. Shout out to you Nat for taking all these pictures. This post is going to be a mix between tips and a DIY to make an outfit look POPPIN while being under $7.
Tip #1
Every single thrift store has the basic essentials for fall. Instead of paying $12-$20 at Forever 21 or H&M for a warm turtleneck. Go right now, seriously right now stop watching Season 2 of Stranger Things and sprint to your local Good will and buy a white turtleneck and a black turtleneck.

Not only are these pieces good on their own but layering sweaters, pairing with a jean skirt and tights or wearing them under overalls are always may go to Fall or Winter look.
The one featured in this photograph was $1.99 at Salvation Army and it fits great, if it was long I would do what my boyfriend hates and cut that boy so its a cropped fit...but not too short!:)

Tip #2
I don't think it's a shocker I have a problem buying jeans. I cannot close my drawer in my dorm room because I have accumulated so many "mom" jeans. These are a pair of Levis that fit a bit loose (which I like) and i frayed the edges to give it a boho vibe. It's as simple as it looks I measured out where I wanted the frays to start and cut small strips. For extra fray use tweezers to really rough em up! Lastly throw them into the wash on the highest tumbling setting and dry them. These jeans were $3 and I was looking at jeans exactly like these at Forever 21 and Boohoo for around $30.
Lastly....Accessorize!!
I paired my thrift combo with my black Doc Martins that I found at Nordstrom Rack for $30. I am so happy my past self got these because I haven't really worn them until this year, I guess I felt like the girl in Princess Diaries with her uniform but now I don't care so much and they keep my toes warm! Also, a fake pair of glasses and a hat takes the look to new tides, new levels, I don't know what Im saying other than it really completes the look.
I wish I could say I thrifted the belt but sadly I can only find skinny belts at my local thrifts, this one is from Amazon (the other addiction) and was $8 with free shipping and came with a key chain...HOW FREAKING THOUGHTFUL.
Hope also thinks I should make a website dedicated to thrifting, what do you all think?! Hope you are all having a wonderful fall season filled with big flannels, lots of naps and soup:)
Peace! Beth
